You can improve the standard of your writing by varying the lengths of your sentences.
We practiced writing sentences starting in different ways:
1. Begin with a place
Germany, 1936, it was a bad day, a bad day for everyone, the day our leader died...
2. Begin with a time
Tweleve am; thats when the screaming started.
3. Begin with a question
Wait! Where's that sound coming from?

- Short sentences are used for panic, danger, tension or to make something stand out.
- Long sentences are used for calmness, description, or linking ideas.
